Traveling has a way of mending parts of us we didn’t even know were broken.

It’s not just about sightseeing or checking destinations off a list — it’s about rediscovering your sense of wonder, your freedom, and your connection to the world. Experiencing different cultures and ways of life reminds us that humanity is vast, beautiful, and endlessly diverse. It pulls us out of isolation and back into belonging.

Travel gives the mind room to breathe. It stretches perspective, builds resilience, and reminds us that change — even discomfort — can be deeply healing. When we travel, we meet ourselves again in new places.

Dreaming of Africa
My dream vacation, top of bucket list, is to visit several African countries over a few weeks — two to four would be ideal. I’m no spring chicken; more like a tough hen, steady on my feet and determined to see it all.

I imagine beginning along the Ivory Coast, tracing the shoreline to Cape Coast Castle and standing before the Door of No Return in Ghana — a place heavy with history, memory, and unspoken prayers. From there, I’d visit Nigeria, Senegal, and Tanzania for a breathtaking safari.

Cape Town, South Africa, calls to me for its mountains and sea, and Kenya for its spirit of endurance. I’d visit Uganda, where my best friend once served in the U.S. Army, then Botswana for its artistry and vibrant fabrics. Finally, I’d end in Egypt, to stand before the Pyramids and the Great Sphinx, and cruise the Nile River like a queen — regal, reflective, and free.

Why not dream boldly? Maybe I’ll only make the long journey once, but I’ll make it count — one shot, one soul-deep adventure.
Freedom, Healing & Resilience
Travel teaches us resilience. It reminds us that the world is bigger than our pain. It invites joy back into the body, offers clarity to the mind, and peace to the heart.

We return home changed — not because we escaped, but because we expanded.
Someday, I’ll make this journey. Until then, I’ll keep dreaming, saving, and preparing for the healing that comes when you dare to see the world and yourself anew.
