A shift…!

I think I’m slowly becoming a vegetarian or a pescatarian, paleo, pollo-pecans or something! Something is happening to me, and I like it!

I can’t keep up with the correct “category of people” who eat a diet of just this or that. There’s so many now and I declare I have enough on this brain to store already, but I’m willing to learn more, if you are 😊👌🏽 I’m always curious.

Yeah so I started the “greens detox” in September after my return from a “Foodie’s” best weekend in Atlanta, to include my daughter’s Sunday Brunch with Fam, complete with crab quiche! But anyways I ❤️ love trying restaurants in ATL; it’s kinda what we do with Tierra 👍🏽

Since then, I lost 10 pounds just in time for my birthday getaway with Bae. But I’ve also changed my palate in the process, without effort. Now I prefer vegetables of any sort, not just delicious greens (collards, kale, mustard & turnips) which I can confidently say contributed to my weight/waist loss.

What also comes to mind when I think about eating meat, is a flashback to my last beautiful cruise. One evening for dinner, I ordered lamb shank, potatoes and broccoli, I think. I’d had this meal before sailing with Royal Caribbean. I quite enjoyed it in the past.

This time the shank came out, laying on my plate like a little elbow with dark flesh. In a 90 degree angle with two 🍖 bones extending from both sides of the elbow meat. I COULDN’T. I could not bring my fork to this joint with meat on it, and to my mouth. I had to push it away and vowed, “lamb chops” from here on.

Now this shift…the thought and sight of meat like my beloved pork neckbones, ribs, roast, steak, venison, and lamb shank amused my tummy to to flip. I think about the process to break meat down after all the work I’ve done the past 5 weeks to detox, add pro & prebiotics, and lose 10.

Here’s what I decided on for breakfast today. I’m traveling tomorrow and need to empty the frig as much as possible – but this was really a choice. I could have saved the broccoli for dinner as planned but I chose something I can stomach! 👍🏽

Vegetarian- a person who does not eat meat, and sometimes other animal products, especially for moral, religious, or health reasons.

Vegan – a person who does not eat any food derived from animals and who typically do not use other animal products like dairy.

Pescatarian- a person who follows a vegetarian diet but allows seafood as their only meat source. Things like fish, crustaceans, and mollusks are permitted but not chicken.

Pollo-pescatarian – a person that eats both poultry and fish; the diet emphasizes healthy foods such as whole grains, fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and healthy fats.

A person who eats fowl and eggs but not fish is called a pollotarian.

If you forget any of this, just ask google 😁
