Traveling Alone

Traveling alone leaves me alone with my thoughts and observations of people I see –

I watch. Wondering what their lives are like. Seen tragedy. Felt love so deep you wanted to crawl inside your lover. Ever been moved by the sight of GOD’s beauty.

Some folks serious. Running late. Some casual in no hurry at all. Is it a family trip? Business?Where are you going so serious? Did someone pass away? Deepest sympathy. Are you responding to the biggest opportunity of your life? Are returning from visiting the most important people of you life?

I like traveling alone sometimes. It provides me perspective – inner thoughts – peace & quiet – relaxation – and more questions than answers.

Tena Lawyer is a retired U.S. Army intelligence professional that began her career mentoring, coaching and training while in the U.S. Army. With over 30 years of experience in the Intelligence Community (IC) in Education and Training (E&T), Teena holds a Masters’ degree in Educational Leadership, achieved Suma Cum Laude. She is a Certified Life Coach and has a Certificate in Human Performance Improvement (HPI) from American Training & Development (ATD). She was an active Adjunct Faculty Member with the Department of Defense and in 2015, was acknowledge as Teacher of the Year - Honorable Mention. She served as a Director and Deputy Director, respectively, of Education & Training in a DoD organizations where she managed the staff of instructors, curriculum developers, and learning facilitators. She taught analytical & critical thinking skills, basic instructor training, unconscious bias training, and peer-to-peer training & development. Currently, Tena is a substitute teacher in Palm Beach County, Florida and a student pursuing a PhD in Global Training and Development. She is passionate about education & training, coaching, mentoring and consulting.
